Before practicing law he received his real estate license and was employed as a mortgage consultant. He also was a candidate for Judge of Probate for the City of West Haven in 1994.

Attorney Liberti earned a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Economics from Union College in 1988 and was awarded a Juris Doctor degree in 1992 from Western New England College School of Law. He also attended classes at the University of Bath, in England. He was awarded a post juris doctor degree or Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Estate Planning and Elder Law from Western New England College School of Law in 2008. He is a member of the Connecticut Bar Association (Estates and Probate Section) and the New Haven County Bar Association (Trust, Estates and Probate Committee, Director, 2005-2006).
